Memorial Cruise Follows the Path of the Titanic

Posted by

A cruise ship set sail from England on April 8th to honor the 100 year anniversary of the Titanic and the victims of the famously tragic cruise ship accident. The Titanic Memorial Cruise, which carried relatives of the Titanic fatalities, left from Southampton just as the original ship did. The ship will cruise for 12 nights.

Many guests aboard the ship paid homage to the original Titanic by dressing in nostalgic period costumes. The ship, which is carrying over 1,300 passengers, hopes to recreate the pleasantries of the original Titanic by providing entertainment such as musical acts playing songs from 1912 and also food from that time period. The ship also traveled to the wreck site, which was anticipated as an emotional experience for the relatives of both victims and survivors. A memorial service took place on April 14th at exactly 11:40pm to pay respects to the moment that he Titanic hit the iceberg one hundred years ago.
